RapidWeaver Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a demo to try?

Yes! RapidWeaver can be downloaded from our Web site and run on your Mac for as long as you like. The only limitation of the demo is that you can create a maximum of three pages per site file. Other than the three page limit, the demo is fully functional and you don't need to visit our store to download it!

What are the System Requirements for RapidWeaver?

RapidWeaver 4.2.2 Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard or Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard, 50 MB disk space.

RapidWeaver 3.6.7: Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger or Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard, 50 MB disk space.

If I buy RapidWeaver directly from the Realmac Software store, will I get a boxed copy?

No. The Realmac Software store sells only electronic copies of RapidWeaver. When buying RapidWeaver online, you receive a serial number to unlock the 3-page limitation of the freely downloadable demo version.

I've lost my serial number. Help!

  • If you originally purchased through our own store, please contact us at team@realmacsoftware.com and include your order number (if you have it), your full name and email address.
  • If you bought RapidWeaver through a third-party site, such as MacHeist, your serial number will be available in the after-sales areas for the 3rd-party site.
  • If you purchased on the Mac App Store you will not have a serial as activation is handled directly through your Apple ID.

How do I install RapidWeaver?

Firstly ensure you've downloaded RapidWeaver from the Realmac Software website and then drag the RapidWeaver icon from you Downloads folder (or whichever location you have downloaded it to) into your Applications folder. Now that you've installed RapidWeaver, it's time to find RapidWeaver in your Applications folder and launch it.

How do I register RapidWeaver?

After having bought RapidWeaver, simply launch the application and enter your serial number into the 'Register RapidWeaver' box that appears when running RapidWeaver in demonstration mode. Click 'Register' and RapidWeaver is now licensed.

Note that if you purchased RapidWeaver on the Mac App Store there is no need to register RapidWeaver as Apple take care of this process through the store.

When will I receive my RapidWeaver serial number?

After your purchase has completed, you will be re-directed to a receipt page which will display your serial number. This is your unique serial number that you should enter into RapidWeaver. You will also receive an automated email receipt, and we recommend you print a copy of it for your own records.

If you appear to have not received a receipt, firstly check your Spam folder. If it's still missing, you can retrieve your serial number.

Can I import/open a pre-existing live site in RapidWeaver?

RapidWeaver does not support live website migration (or import) as it is incredibly difficult to reverse-engineer websites to fit RapidWeaver. The only way that you could move your site to RapidWeaver would be to choose a theme that you feel best represents your original site and copy and paste the content from your live site into a new RapidWeaver project.

My serial number is not working

If your serial number is not working, then please check the following:

  • Ensure that you are running the correct version of RapidWeaver by checking our FAQ on versions.
  • If the serial number is still not working, check that you are entering it correctly. When copying and pasting the serial number you may find you have an odd space either side of the serial number.
  • If entering by hand, always check characters such as 5 and S are correct.
