RapidWeaver 5 - Frequently Asked Questions
What is RapidWeaver 5?
RapidWeaver 5 is the newest update to Realmac Software's acclaimed web creation tool. For a full list of features, check out RapidWeaver 5's dedicated page on our site.
How does RapidWeaver 5 affect existing RapidWeaver users?
RapidWeaver 5 is packed full of new and exciting features and as such it is a paid upgrade for previous RapidWeaver license holders - however, if you already own a license for RapidWeaver 4.x (or 3.6) you can upgrade to version 5 for just $49.99 in our store.
I purchased RapidWeaver 4 just before you released version 5 - can I get a free upgrade?
We're offering a 'Grace Period' for customers that purchased RapidWeaver shortly before the release of RapidWeaver 5. Please take a look at the following FAQ to see if you are eligible for this:

Am I able to open and edit my pre-existing RapidWeaver 4 projects in RapidWeaver 5?
Yes. You can open and continue to work on previous projects without issue in RapidWeaver 5.
When saving older projects in RapidWeaver 5 for the first time, RapidWeaver will ask if you are you are sure that you want to save your project - this is because RapidWeaver 5 projects are not 'backwards compatible' (meaning that once saved they can not be opened back in RapidWeaver 4.x again). So if you feel that you may want to open your projects in a previous version of RapidWeaver at some point we would suggest making a copy of them first.
Very important - please note:
If you were using any third-party plugins in your pre-existing project you will need to ensure that these are all up to date by visiting the respective plugin developer's site before opening your project.
How do I use the new Resources feature in RapidWeaver?
We currently have a comprehensive FAQ available on this powerful new feature in our Knowledge Base. Check it out here:
How do I use the new Stats feature in RapidWeaver?
One of the great new features in RapidWeaver 5 is a new site statistics (or 'Stats') area integrated into the project sidebar.
You will need to create either a Google Analytics or GoSquared LiveStats account and then simply enter the 'Tracking Code' provided by either service in the corresponding Stats area in RapidWeaver. The next time you publish your tracking code will also be uploaded so that you can start tracking visits to your site using either your Google Analytics or GoSquared LiveStats account.
Please note:
RapidWeaver documentation is currently undergoing many updates - stay tuned for more info!
