LittleSnapper Fixes For Common Issues
If you’re having any issues with LittleSnapper we recommend you try the following:
1. Make sure that LittleSnapper is up-to-date:
You can always download the latest version of LittleSnapper from our Downloads Page
You should also make sure that your version of Mac OSX is up-to-date. You can do this by running “Software Update...” from the Apple Menu in the finder.
2. Known issues using Firefox in combination with Default Folder X:
Some users have encountered problems snapping when using St Clair Software’s Default Folder X and browsing with Firefox.
We recommend you always ensure that you’re using the latest release of Default Folder X and Firefox.
If you are still unable to snap, please contact St Clair Software about this issue.
3. Repair your system's Disk Permissions
Even if you’re not experiencing issues with LittleSnapper it’s always a good idea to repair your disk permissions to help keep your Mac running without any problems. Here’s how to repair disk permissions:
- Open Disk Utility, located at /Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility
- Select your startup disk on the left of the Disk Utility window
- Select First Aid from the tabs
- Click the “Repair Disk Permissions” button (please be aware that this can take sometime depending on your system)
4. Check your system for 'MagiCal' or 'KeyCue' and re-launch LittleSnapper without these applications running.
A small number of users have reported issues with MagiCal from Charcoal Design and KeyCue from Ergonis Software causing issues with LittleSnapper's full screen snapping. If you are experiencing such issues, disable MagiCal or KeyCue and re-launch LittleSnapper. If you experience further conflicts with LittleSnapper and these applications you may want to consider uninstalling them.
5. Check your system for ‘Application Enhancer’ and either uninstall or deactivate it
Application Enhancer from Unsanity makes changes to your operating system and causes numerous issues within LittleSnapper - along with a number of other applications. We strongly recommend removing Application Enhancer from your system. To uninstall Application Enhancer please follow these steps.
Prior to version 2.0: Click on APE Manager or Application Enhancer in System Preferences. Choose the Uninstall option under the Information tab.
Version 2.0 and newer: Click on Application Enhancer in System Preferences. Click the “Troubleshooting...” button in the About tab. Click the “Uninstall Application Enhancer...” button and follow the instructions.
Alternatively you can Download the Application Enhancer installer from the Unsanity Website, run the installer and click Uninstall.
6. Use LittleSnapper in Safe Boot
Restart your Mac in Safe Boot Mode (Apple.com - Safe Boot) and then launch LittleSnapper before launching any other applications or start-up items to determine whether any other third-party product may be causing an conflict issue.
