Information about the 'Snap Contains Layer Data' alert

In LittleSnapper 1.5 we introduced a brand-new format - the .snap format - to allow you to share your snaps with other LittleSnapper users.

The .snap format, which is used as the way of storing snaps within your LittleSnapper library, stores all the metadata for each snap you take - and when taking screenshots using LittleSnapper 1.5 or greater, stores all windows open on the screen as layers within the bundle.

You may also have noticed that uploading to Ember is a little slower than with previous versions - this is due to the fact that we upload the .snap bundle (zipped) to Ember and when a user chooses to import an image from Ember to LittleSnapper, the .snap bundle is downloaded and added to their library.

Right now, users cannot change the arrangement of layers within LittleSnapper however the layers are within the snap bundle and in future we may offer the ability to edit layers and their arrangement. At this point, any windows that were open at the time of capture would be viewable to any users who have downloaded the snap bundle and rearrange the order of layers. This also applies to any blurred information in the snaps.

Always make sure that only windows you are happy sharing are open when taking snaps with LittleSnapper
