Facebook Feed No Longer Updates
I'm not sure what changed in the most recent update of Socialite, now Facebook no longer updates. I even tried removing the service and adding it back in and still no go. What happened?

Hi Tim
Thanks for your message. Sometimes it seems that Facebook APIs don't update as quickly as the web site - and the downloads can take a few seconds longer than usual. I've just tested it here with our test accounts and can't replicate the issue.
If you continue to experience these issues in the next 6 or so hours, please let us know and we'll look into it further.
Kind Regards,
Nik

What good is the app if it's going to take 6 hours for the problem to be resolved. I'm getting consistent updates on my Android phone without a problem.

Hi Tim
Thanks for your message. As mentioned before, we're looking into the matter. However, if the Facebook APIs we're using are lagging, we're not able to work around that! When signing into your Facebook account, do you see photos as well, or is it just status updates that you're missing?
Thanks
Nik

I should clarify that after removing my facebook account from Socialite and adding back in I got my own photos to populate but nothing came in for Status Updates or Friends Photos.

Yep,
No status updates in facebook here also...this is a major issue.

Well I have the same problem. Last update from Facebook was 3 days ago. I'm getting no updates at all. Removed the service and added it back, rebooted, repaired permissions, nothing works. It isn't updating at all, let alone the 6 hours you mentioned. It's been all day with no updates!

Same problem here. My photos show up, but nothing else on facebook.

Hi Guys
Thanks for your messages. We're looking into these reports. Currently our test accounts are 'unavailable due to site maintenance' on Facebook's end - however as soon as we're able to continue testing I'll post an update here.
Thanks!
Nik

Any word yet?

Hi Guys
We're continuing to investigate - however our initial tests show that the API methods these features rely on at Facebook are simply not working. We've verified this through setting up an entirely new API key that we've been testing internally - as well as checking whether other apps such as Tweetdeck are able to connect to Facebook (they're not). We're in the process of contacting Facebook about this, and as soon as we know more we will of course let you know.
Thanks for your patience with this matter: I appreciate it's highly infuriating, however we're unable to work around a broken Facebook API. As soon as we know more, we'll post here.
Kind Regards,
Nik

My tweetdeck is connecting fine. Not trying to promote another product, just FYI...

Hi Kevin
We're still seeing Tweetdeck not showing any updates on our test systems. However, we're continuing to monitor the situation.
Thanks
Nik

Here is a screen shot. Latest tweetdeck on Snow fully updated.
I don't want to use tweetdeck! I like socialite because of its interface and it connects with many services PLUS rss!
Don't mistake this as a flaming war or me trying to prove right and wrong, just trying to maybe help find an issue.
Thank you

Thanks Nick for working on this!

Hi Kevin
As the the issue is something on Facebook's end, we're unable to work around it - which is highly irritating. The issue itself is with the 'Facebook Status Update' API [which we use in Socialite's Status Updates area, and other clients - including Tweetdeck, Seesmic etc - use for a similar feature]. It's actually an entirely different API method from the ones shown in that screenshot, and right now it's one that's simply returning no data to any clients requesting the status updates from a user's friends.
I'm currently running more diagnostics to ensure we've got all the information to submit to Facebook, and currently working to contact the Facebook Platform team and ask for guidance on what steps can be taken to fix this!
Thanks for your patience! As we're based in the UK, there's ~8 hours between us and the Facebook team, however we're doing everything we can to get this feature working again.
Kind Regards,
Nik

Hi Guys
Thanks for your patience with this. Overnight it seems that Facebook have now fixed the issue on their end, and we're seeing new status updates appear in Socialite once again. If you're still not seeing them, and you've re-added the Facebook service, please let me know and we'll look again at the issue.
Thanks for your understanding with this issue - I'll keep a further watch on the issue over the weekend just incase Facebook encounter any further issues with this.
Kind Regards,
Nik
