twitter don't work
Hi,
Socialite can't receive messages from twitter anymore. It want an authentication for twitter but shows only a blank page. The button "open in browser" doesn't work either.
I didn't change anything (twitter worked without any problems the days before) - the authentication came from nowhere...
Any suggestion how I can reauthenticate with twitter?

Hey, I don't know what the actual issue is, but I got around it by re-adding my Twitter service. For some reason, when you add it as a new service the authentication screen shows up like it ought to.

Deleting and re-adding Twitter only worked for one restart of Socialite and now the problem is back. I'm also seeing that none of my or my friends' photos are coming up on FB.
Back to Seesmic Desktop. Sigh...
This is not good, since we need an OS X alternative. Seesmic is focusing on their Windows and non-iPhone mobile clients these days and giving short shrift to their Adobe AIR client. It's not at all clear if and when they'll come out with a Mac client (rather than the current AIR client), and when it does happen it is more than likely going to be a Silverlight-based client. Blecchh. But at least SD works, and has some functionality Socialite lacks for the foreseeable future (displaying links on FB posted by friends is one of these).
C'mon already-could we at least get back to the stable functionality of EventBox? I really want Socialite to be good, I really do. But this is getting frustrating. I understand this is a beta, but it's a beta that replaced a pretty good application (EventBox).

Thanks Matthew. Re-adding the twitter service works for me (at this moment).
Now I got also the "lists" in my profile.
In my eyes Socialite (aka Eventbox) is the best twitter-newsfeed-reader-social-thing for the mac. Tweetie and twitterific were no alternative :)

i'm experiencing this same problem a lot!
I have three twitter accounts and almost everytime at least one of them isn't working.
i'm sick of readding it every time I start socialite.
I would never pay for Socialite, and I don't recommend it anymore. Like dtoub says:
"I understand this is a beta, but it's a beta that replaced a pretty good application (EventBox). " What are you guys doing ruining a great thing...

Hi Guys
Thanks for your message. If you've got any reproducible steps for the issues you're reporting, we'd love to hear them. If you've not yet run through the following steps, please could you try them?

For the account credentials being forgotten, could you:
Let me know how you get on, as we're looking into ways we can improve the reliability of the OAuth side of things.
Thanks!
Nik

Thx Nik for the hint!
The steps usually work, but it's not funny, readding all accounts everytime when I start socialite. Even with the beta3 I'm currently running, the problem with loosing the account credentials for twitter is still there, facebook is now working for me. Is there a way to get the URL for the twitter auth that should be opened in the browser by the button?
Thanks and greetings from Austria!
Stefan

Hi Guys
Thanks for your messages. We're going to be releasing Beta 4 late today / early tomorrow with some debugging code that we can use to figure out what's going on.
Unfortunately, it's not possible to get the URL for Twitter auth, as we have to contact Twitter first, to retrieve a token that's used in the URL for Twitter authentication. This seems to be where the problem is occurring, and so the URL isn't being generated correctly.
We'll be sure to let you know when the Beta is available (be sure to keep an eye on @socialiteapp too!)
Please let me know if I can be of any further assistance.
Kind regards,
Nik
