unable to comment on some facebook feed items

EventBox is only allowing me to comment on some items. Others do not have the "balloon" next to them even though I should be able to comment on them.

   Hi there

   Thanks for your message. The balloon only appears next to items that already have comments. To reply to a thread, simply highlight the thread in the Facebook view, and below the text field it should then change to "Reply to <<Friend's Name>>".
