Continuous Freshing

Gday Crew
I hope my note finds you well.
Version: 1.2.2.
I have an issue where my app has 're-fresh-like' circles next to all services, not beach ball of death circles - but circles that are grey and sit to the left of the number count for ea. service.
I have 5 services attached to Socialite.
3 Twitter accounts, 2 FB & Google Reader.
Sometimes the first Twitter account spins right out and has 12342145 as unread count next to updates. Which is usually 50-100.
The app is continuously refreshing and no new updates come through unless I quit the app and launch again.
I used app zapper to delete the app and downloaded it again & added back all of my services.
The same problem occurs.
Can't think of anything else to tell you.
Looking forward to hearing your resolve.
Thanks so much, Keep In Happy Places, Duncan
PS: Thanks for Socialite & well done on an amazing application. :-)

    Hi there,

Thanks for the message. I'm sorry to hear that you are having issues with Socialite, I understand what an inconvenience this may be for you.

Rather than using AppZapper - could you try manually creating a fresh Socialite database by taking a look at the following steps and letting us know how you get on?

    http://support.realmacsoftware.com/faqs/socialite/starting-socialite-with-a-fresh-database

    Kind regards,

    Gday Luke

    Thank you for your e-mail.

Unfortunately, now when I click the app from dock, it doesn't open.

It shows active in the dock - but not opening or 'displaying on screen'. Even if I ⌘ tab through the open apps and press alt to open highlighted, the app won't open.

It was running fine most of the day.

I have removed the app using app zapper a couple of times and last removal was via your sent instructions.

I have done repair permissions and and a number of other maintenance scripts such as cleaned system cache etc.

I have noticed changes with this app since twitter interface changes.

I also notice whenever I move folders with in my Google Reader service, the app starts really slowing up.

Not sure what else I can advise.

    Hope to hear a resolve.

I hope your day is being kind to you.

Thank you & Best Regards, Duncan

I have the same problem twice now, used manual and app zapper have just done another manual refresh (3rd refresh in as many weeks) - lost all my peeks, settiings etc etc again.

Was working fine until the last 2/3 weeks. the other symptom is all events window will not appear after launching app and you have to select if from the window menu.

To even see Socialite, I open the app, then have to click "show" from menu bar. Then the spinning out begins. Not able to report stats as it changes intermittently. I've kind of given up now. Which is sad. I haven't had a fully functioning version of Socialite for a few days. I'm back to Twitterific, web pages & Net News Wire. That's boring. :-) I hope this app gets the attention it deserves - really soon. I suspect the Twitter interface changes are playing a part in this app's dysfunction. I hope the guys at realmacsoftware are working on this issue, there are loads of folks repeating same issues. It seems as though my ticket from last report has been left unattended. It's always good to be kept in the loop. Duncan :-) ॐ

    Hi Guys

Thanks for your message. We've seen a couple of reports of issues with the Twitter API recently. We've not been able to replicate the continual refreshing that some users have - however, we're in the process of reworking how Socialite stores and requests data from the services. I can't say when this might appear, but our developers are working it!

Please let me know if I can be of any further assistance.

    Kind regards,

    Nik

    Thanks Nik,

I have been unable to use the app for a number of days now.

I have left it until issues have been sorted.

Do you know how we best keep in the loop about a new version.

Usually one would open the app to get an update, but I am unable to use the app at all now.

Thank you & Best Regards, Duncan

    Hi Duncan

The best way would be to follow @socialiteapp on Twitter: any update news will be posted there.

    Thanks!

I don't think its the twitter accounts - its just having loads - as at work I seem to be ok with 1 twitter account and nothing else but I really annoyed now as this problem has made Socialite unusable

I am also regularly experiencing this. Usually removing and starting clean works for a while, but then the problem re-emerges.

It currently makes Socialite almost unusable as I have to recreate my accounts over and over again every so often.

I am getting these types of error messages (attached), don't know if they're related.

    Hi Linus

Thanks for the report. The output looks like the application is trying to access an event that's no longer in the database (likely removed by the Content Limit). I've asked our developers to look into this!

Please let me know if I can be of any further assistance.

    Kind regards,
