Edits to links don't stick.

I have a site where I use a blog page. At the top of each blog post I have the blog author and a link to a relevant site. Each week I copy and paste those 2 lines into a new post and change the info. I change both the link REF and the visible text, in that order. But when I change the link text, the REF changes back to the previous REF every time. I then have to go back and re-edit the link REF to the correct link. Why does this happen?

    HI David

Thanks for your message. Which version of RapidWeaver are you using? Is this something you can reliably reproduce in a new separate test project?

    Thanks

    Nik,

I am using version 4.2.2 although I think this has been happening for at least one prior version (probably more). Here is what I did (in a new file).

    1. Create a new blog page
    2. Create a new article
    3. Add Text and link
    4. Select All and Copy
    5. Add new article
    6. Paste into body
    7. Highlight link
    8. Click to change link ref
    9. Say Set Link
    10. While still highlighted, I change the link text
    11. When I go back to check the link ref, it is now back to original ref.

If I deselect the link text and then re-select it, then edit it, the new ref remains.
If I change the link text first and then change the ref, it works fine.

It just seems to me that when you select a link and change the link ref, and then it is still highlighted you wouldn't deselect and reselect to change the link text, you would naturally just type the new link text. Or perhaps when you Set Link, the highlighted text becomes unlighted, forcing you to click on it to reselect.

    Thanks for your help.

    Hi David

Thanks for the update. We'll take a look into this. In the meantime, you will probably want to use the Format menu's 'Remove Formatting' option to neutralise the links. If we need any more information I'll be in touch!

    Kind Regards,

    Nik
