Hello, I just purchased a upgrade for 2 computers and I'm wondering what to do next? Do I copy the files from the original computer and put it on this one,or what? Thanks, Tim

    Hi Tim,

Thanks for the message. Firstly ensure that both machines are running the latest version for the OS.

RapidWeaver can be downloaded at any time here:

    http://www.realmacsoftware.com/downloads/

Then, to move your projects across you will need to locate and copy across your site files which will have an extension of .rwsw. You may also want to take a look at the following FAQ on moving projects:

    http://support.realmacsoftware.com/faqs/rapidweaver/moving-a-rapidweaver-project-from-one-system-to-another

Please let me know if I can be of any further assistance.

    Kind regards,

    Luke

Luke, I can't seem to find a specific file extension .rsws. I can find the html files that make up the web site though. I have them on a flash drive. Please inform. Thanks, Tim

    Hi Tim,

I would suggest using Mac OS X Spotlight or the Finder to search for:

    .rwsw

...to locate your original project file 'bundle' as this is needed to work on your project in RapidWeaver (it's not possible to open the HTML files directly in RapidWeaver).

Please let me know if I can be of any further assistance.

    Kind regards,

    Luke

    Hi Tim,

Thanks for the update. What Mac OS X are you on and what version of RapidWeaver are you running? If you're running RapidWeaver version 3.6.7 (for Tiger) your RapidWeaver project files will have an extension of .rw3.

    Kind regards,

    Luke

    Hi Tim,

What version of RapidWeaver are you running? As RapidWeaver 3.6 project files have an extension of .rw3 as opposed to the .rwsw extension of RapidWeaver 4.x project files.

    Kind regards,

    Luke

Luke, I'm just now getting back to the issue at hand. I have RW 4.4.2. What do I do when I find the files? And how do I load them on the other computer? Thanks, Tim

    Hi Tim,

If you are running RapidWeaver 4.4.2 on both machines you should be able to locate the .rwsw project files and copy and move them between machines.

Please let me know if I can be of any further assistance.

    Kind regards,

    Luke

    Hi Tim,

If you download and install RapidWeaver on your new machine, you should simply be able to launch your previous project files in RapidWeaver by double clicking on them in the Finder.

Please let me know if I can be of any further assistance.

    Kind regards,

    Luke

Hi Luke, as far as I know I have everything on this computer but when I open RW and open recent projects it is empty. When I open "Open" I'm not sure what I should be looking for? Can you give me step by step instructions on how to load the RW program? Thanks, Tim

    Hi Tim,

As RapidWeaver project files can only be opened in RapidWeaver, I would suggest using Mac OS X 'Spotlight' to locate your project files by entering the .rwsw extension into Spotlight. Then double click on the project file to launch it in RapidWeaver.

Please let me know if I can be of any further assistance.

    Kind regards,
