Hi,
Installed licensed version of RapidWeaver a week or two ago (current version). Has been working fine. All of a sudden (ie tonight) it fails to start up and I need to do a "Force Quit". Any ideas?
Cheers,
Ian

    Hi Ian

Thanks for your message. Have you updated the application recently? Which version of Mac OS X are you running, and which version of RapidWeaver?

    Thanks!

    Nik,

Rapidweaver 4.3.1 (only recently downloaded this - a week or two ago)
    Mac OS 10.6.2

    Any suggestions would be great.

    Cheers,
    Ian

    Hi,

Tried something else today. I binned the relevant .plist files and tried to start RapidWeaver. It started, asked for my serial number, and then froze (just sat there with the spinning wheel going for ever). I really need to get a website published and was close to finishing it. If I can't fix this problem in the next couple of days, I will need to get rid of RapidWeaver and go to another product. This would be a pity. Any help would be very much appreciated.

    Cheers, Ian

    Hi,

Tried another thing. I uninstalled the entire application including the preference files. I downloaded a new copy of the software and reinstalled it. Fired it up and the same thing happened. It asked me for my license number and after accepting that, the start up seemed to stall. Spinning wheel, force quit. No luck.

Why would it work for a couple of weeks and then, all of a sudden, stop working?

    Cheers, Ian

    Hi Ian

Thanks for your message. It's highly unusual for this to happen - especially as you've not updated the application recently. We've not seen any other reports of this happening recently, either. Could you fire up the Console application (found in /Applications/Utilities), and in the Filter box in the top right enter RapidWeaver?

Then, launch RapidWeaver and try to register.

If you could send over the Console output that would be super-helpful and we'll then have a better idea of what's going on!

    Thanks for your patience!

    Nik,

Well the good news is that RapidWeaver is working again. You have a record of all of the things I tried to get it working, but even after all of that it still wouldn't start up. What I did was to think of any changes I had made to my computer between now and when RapidWeaver last worked for me. The only thing I could think of was my Airport settings. I have been traveling, so I have been logging into a variety of hotel and airport wireless hotspots with my computer. So, what I did was to turn airport off and try RadidWeaver again. For some reason, it started up as if nothing was wrong. I quit out of the application, turned airport back on again, and then fired up RapidWeaver no problems. Since then, it has been working for me.

I am more than happy to help you fault find if there is something that you want me to do for you, but I am now back on track with my website and happy. I appreciate your interest in my problem. If there is anything I can do for you, please give me a yell.

    Cheers,
    Ian
