importing audio track with QuickTime movie
I love the look of my first site from RW. The one thing I can't get to happen is to import the audio track along with a 50 second QuickTime movie. I've tried it on a styled text page, a QuickTime movie page, and a Movie album page. Maybe it's just not possible, but if there's a way, I'd be grateful for any guidance.

Hi there,
Thanks for the message. I'm sorry to hear that you are having issues with RapidWeaver, I understand what an inconvenience this may be for you.
What exact steps are you taking to attempt to import your audio and QuickTime movie? I would suggest opening both files in QuickTime and exporting them both as .mov files. You should then be able to drag them straight into a Styled Text page.
Please let me know if I can be of any further assistance.
Kind regards,
Luke

Dear Luke,
Thanks for getting back. In answer to your "what exact steps" question:
a) The object to be imported is ONE QuickTime movie file which
contains a movie with both a video track and a SYNCHED audio track (all on a
new MacBook Pro).
b) I open a new Styled Text page in RW.
c) I open the finder, then the Movies folder.
d) I select the file from a) and drag it to the Styled Text
page in edit mode.
When I do this, I get the audio track installed on the Styled Text page (I'd
like to know how to scale it so that all of its progress bar is visible on
the page), but I don't get an audio track. The same thing happens when I
target a QuickTime page and a movie album page. Maybe I'm missing something
relevant in the Manual, but what I've discovered so far doesn't help.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Bob Sapora

Hi Bob,
How large is the QuickTime movie? Could you compress and send it over to us so that we may further investigate this issue? If it is quite big you may want to consider using the http://senduit.com service.
Kind regards,
Luke

Dear Luke,
I'll keep trying to send you the QuickTime movie in question until you get
it. Thanks for your willingness to get to the bottom of the problem.

Dear Luke,
Work no further. The export settings of my audio software were really
vague. When I second-guessed them, I got the audio import to RW to work.
My problem was in no way that I could see due to any quirk of your fine
software. Thanks for your attention. I regret having taken such of your
time as I did. Bob

Hey Luke,
I hope you don't get the impression that I'm going to be an albatross, but,
though I'm a stellar stone carver and welder, I'm a 66-year-old infant in
matters HTML. I tried to upload my new, audio-stocked website and got a
"failed to publish" message. In exploring my file directory on the host
server, I discovered that my index.html file is empty. The host crew said
there's nothing in their system that would have emptied a properly filled
index file. Is there something I haven't found in the RW manual that shows
me how to resort my files so that my index file functions properly as my
home page? I've tried refreshing the file directory on the host server and
I've tried saving the site in RW immediately before publishing and I don't
know what to try next.
In case you want to sample my 3D lunacy as soon as the site's back up:

Thanks in advance for any suggestion you might have. Cheers, Bob

Hi Bob,
Sorry to hear that you're still experiencing some issues. Could you ensure that the home page in your RapidWeaver project has a filename of:
index.html
..in the Page Inspector and then 'Re-publish All files' in RapidWeaver. Let us know how you get on. Kind regards,
Luke
