I have a number of PDFs which are page assets. When I attempt to preview them, RW either very, very slowly puts up a blank page, or gives me the spinner of death and I have to Force Quit.

    Hi Russ,

Thanks for the message. I'm sorry to hear that you are having issues with RapidWeaver, I understand what an inconvenience this may be for you.

Do you have Adobe Reader installed? This sounds like a web-view issue related to the PDF preview plugin not behaving correctly.

If you export the project locally you should be able to view the PDF without issue.

    Kind regards,

    Luke

    Luke,

I have Acrobat Professional installed. I have no problem viewing PDFs
    in Safari or OminiWeb.

Is there a way to export the site without clearing all the "changed"
page flags. Several versions ago there was a change which caused the
flag to be cleared whenever I exported locally, meaning that I then
have to upload the entire site.

I don't see that you've made any suggestion to resolve the problem of
    Previewing a page within RW.

    Thank you,

    Russ

    Hi Russ,

Apologies for the confusion - are you trying to Preview the PDFs directly or the Assets displayed in Preview? What version of RapidWeaver are you running?

    Kind regards,

    Luke

I'm trying to Preview the page. Then while Previewing the page I
select the link to the PDF asset, then RW hangs.

    Hi Russ,

Thanks for the update. I'm unable to replicate the issue myself in RapidWeaver 4.3 running OS X 10.6. Could you compress and send on one of the PDFs that you have issue with so that we may further investigate the issue?

    Kind regards,

    Luke

It's failing on a variety of files, including the two that are attached.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Acrobat Pro 9. I recently
installed PhotoShop Elements 8 so it may be related to that.

Both files open fine on the web site (see PDF links at http://www.newmorning.info/page12/page60/page60.html
), they fail when I attempt to Preview the page.

    Thank you,

    Russ

    Hi Russ,

I am unfortunately still unable to replicate the issue myself. Please see the attached screen shot.

I you create a brand new 'test' pdf do you experience the same issues? Do you experience this issue with all PDFs?

    Kind regards,

    Luke

    Luke,

I don't know why, but it's working now. I deleted some meta-data and
republished the pages, both for other reasons, but not if I Preview
    the page it is fine.

    Thanks for following up.

    Russ
